Camp VALOR

Hello friends and family!  This blog post is not so much about me, but about something worthwhile and exciting that will be happening here in Piura.

In May of this year, we, Northern Peru Peace Corps Volunteers, will be hosting a 3-day event known as Camp VALOR (Varones Adolescentes Lideres Organizados Responsables).  This camp is dedicated to teaching teenage boys about becoming responsible, organized leaders in their communities.  There will be tons of different activities throughout the weekend to demonstrate to them their abilities to become responsible young adults.  We want them to know that they have the capability to make a difference in their communities, and in the world at large.  Each Volunteer will bring 2 or 3 young boys for a weekend full of learning, challenges, team-building activities, and most importantly- FUN!  Many of the boys that will attend Camp VALOR have never had the opportunity to be away from home, and for some this will be the first time that they have ever left their communities at all.  I have no doubt in my mind that this camp will make a difference in many a young man’s life.

Do YOU want to be a part of making a difference?  Do YOU want to help change a young boy’s life?  No, you don’t have to come to Peru (although I wouldn’t mind a visitor or two)!  All you have to do is make a quick, easy, tax-deductible donation to this beyond-worthy cause.
If you want to learn more about this camp, OR if you want to donate, go ahead and check out the following link:

Please don’t feel obligated to donate, but if you feel so moved, any amount is appreciated!  Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance if you do decide to make a difference!

Tell me you don't want to help create a positive influence on one of these boys' lives...
